The wedding you didn't see
On the day, you'll be in a dozen places at once and still miss most of it: your college friends at table nine, your grandmother on the dance floor, the toast you only half heard. Your photographer is busy with the moments that have to be perfect. Your guests are already standing where the rest of the wedding happens.
Event Camera turns each guest's phone into a disposable camera for the day. They scan a QR code at their table, and the camera opens in the browser. There's no app to download and no account to make. Each guest gets a set number of shots. They can't see, retake or delete them, so every shot counts, and people take the photos they mean to take.
How it works at a wedding
- Set up the event. Name it, set the start and end times, and choose how many shots each guest gets. The camera only opens during that window.
- Put the QR code out. Print it on table cards, the welcome sign or the back of the program. You can also email invitations with the camera link before the day.
- Guests shoot. Photos, plus short videos of up to 60 seconds if you allow them. There's a selfie switch for the photo booth crowd.
- You curate. After the wedding, look through every shot, pick the ones you love, and send the album to your guests by email in one go.
Ideas that work well
- Table cards with a prompt. "Take one photo of the people at your table and one of something we'd never notice." Prompts give quieter guests a reason to join in.
- A few shots each, not unlimited. Ten to fifteen shots per guest is plenty for a reception. A short roll makes people choosy, and you get fewer near-duplicates to sort through.
- Use it for the whole weekend. Make separate events for the rehearsal dinner, the welcome drinks and the day after, each with its own QR code and album.
- Ask a friend to mention it. One line from the DJ or the best man ("there's a camera on your table, use it!") makes a real difference.
Privacy and keeping your photos
Guests only see the album if you send it, and only the shots you choose are in it. The album is a private link that you can turn off or replace at any time. Photos and videos are kept for 90 days after the event. "Download all" saves the whole album as one file, so you can keep it for good.
What it costs
$2 per guest, and you count as one guest. A 120-guest wedding costs $242 for a camera on every phone. Or let guests pay $2.50 each when they join, and your own seat is free.
