Privacy Policy
Effective October 7, 2026
The short version
- We collect only what's needed to run an event: names, email addresses, the photos and videos you take, and payment records.
- Photos and videos are deleted 90 days after the event ends. Hosts can delete an event sooner.
- We don't sell personal information, don't show ads, and don't use your photos for anything but your event.
- Questions or requests: hello@memoryrolls.com.
1. Who we are
Memory Rolls LLC ("we", "us"), a Minnesota company, runs memoryrolls.com and the Event Camera service. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
2. What we collect
From hosts
- Account details: email address, and sign-in information handled by our sign-in provider.
- Event details: name, date, time, location and settings; your display name, colour and logo if you add them.
- Invite lists you add: names, email addresses and phone numbers of people you invite.
- Payment records: what you bought and when. Card details are entered on Stripe's pages and go directly to Stripe; we never see or store full card numbers.
From guests
- Your first name and email address, given when you join an event.
- The photos and videos you take with the event camera, and when you took them.
- A random identifier stored in your browser, so the same phone keeps its seat and remaining shots. We don't use it to track you anywhere else.
- If you pay to join: payment records, with card details handled by Stripe as above.
Automatically
- Basic technical logs (such as IP address, browser type and errors) kept by our hosting provider to run and secure the Service, held for about a month.
- Whether emails we send bounce or are marked as spam, so we stop sending to those addresses.
The event camera doesn't add location data to photos, and the preview copies we make have any camera metadata removed. We don't use advertising or analytics cookies. The site stores a few small items in your browser (your seat on this phone, your sign-in as a host) only to make the Service work. Stripe's payment pages set their own cookies, covered by Stripe's privacy policy.
3. How we use it
- To run events: open the camera for guests, count shots and seats, store photos and videos, and show them to the host.
- To send emails a host asks us to send (invitations and albums), and messages about accounts and payments.
- To take payments, prevent fraud and abuse, and keep financial records.
- To provide support and improve the Service.
- To meet legal obligations.
We don't sell or rent personal information, don't share it for advertising, and don't use photos or videos to train AI models or for marketing.
4. Who can see your photos
- During the event: only the host. Guests can't see each other's shots, or their own.
- The album: the shots the host picks. The host shares it with a private link, by email or text. Anyone who has the link can view and download those shots until the host turns the link off or the 90 days end.
- On a host's own domain: some hosts use their own web address; the same rules apply.
5. Who we share information with
Only with service providers that help us run the Service, under contracts that limit their use of it:
- Amazon Web Services (United States): hosting, storage, sign-in and email delivery.
- Stripe: payment processing.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect people's safety or our rights, or as part of a sale or merger of our business (in which case this policy would continue to apply).
6. How long we keep it
- Photos and videos: deleted 90 days after the event ends, or sooner if the host deletes the event.
- Event, guest and invite records: until the host deletes the event or closes their account.
- Payment records: Stripe keeps its own records as required by law and its policies; we keep ours while the event exists.
- Unsubscribe and bounce lists: kept so we keep honouring them.
7. Your choices and rights
- Unsubscribe: every invitation and album email has an unsubscribe link.
- Guests: to have your photos removed from an event, ask the host, or email us with the event link and we'll work with the host.
- Access, correction and deletion: email hello@memoryrolls.com to ask for a copy of your information, to correct it, or to delete it. We'll respond within 30 days and may need to confirm who you are.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law. We'll honour them, and we won't treat you differently for using them.
8. Security
Photos and videos are stored privately and encrypted at rest. They're only reachable through short-lived signed links, and all connections use HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will tell affected users if a breach puts it at risk, as the law requires.
9. Children
The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, email us and we'll delete it.
10. Where your information is stored
The Service is run from the United States. If you use it from elsewhere, your information is transferred to and stored in the United States.
11. Changes
We'll post any changes here with a new effective date, and tell hosts about material changes by email or in the host portal.
